It is an academically oriented resource, where the need for and interest in reading and study engendered in the classroom can be reinforced. It also has a social/personal focal point, in that it provides many goods and services required by the multi-faceted College community.

The Skidmore Shop is owned and operated by Skidmore College and is organizationally under the Vice President for Business Affairs and Treasurer. Policies are established by the President and Board of Trustees.

The Skidmore Shop utilizes sound business principles and practices with the anticipation that income will exceed operating expenses. Income realized beyond expenses is returned to the College.
